Final event and presentation of results from the EU H2020 ROUTE-TO-PA project

The Conference, organized by the Department of Computer Science of the University of Salerno in collaboration with the Presidency of the Regional Council, represents the final event of the European project Horizon 2020 ROUTE-TO-PA (which combines experience and research in the e-government sectors,

computer science, cognitive science and economics, to assess the impact, on citizens and society, of the ICT-based Transparency Platforms), whose international coordination is at the University of Salerno.

The conference is the accomplishment of over 3 years of research and innovation in 6 European countries (Italy, Ireland, France, Holland, Poland, Great Britain) as part of the use of Open Data to increase the transparency and participation of citizens in the activities of the Public Administration.

For this important event of Research and Innovation in European context, the work of the participants, coming from all over Europe, will come hosted at the Centro Direzionale di Napoli, Isola F13, in the “G. Siani “.

Inside the conference there will be the presentation of the results of the ROUTE-TO-PA project, both for the experimentation activities carried out inside project pilot (Dublin, Prato, Utrecht, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Hetor Project in Campania), both for the best practices and methodologies developed to make the process in the PA effective and efficient, aimed at offering ever greater transparency through citizen participation; the results of the project for the impact in the ecosystem of services based on Open Data, which provide for a significant, are also not negligible involvement of the productive fabric, especially of small and medium-sized enterprises.

All the European partners of the project (Research, Public Administrations, Companies and Non-profit Organizations) will participate in the conference, presenting their results, as well as delegations at the highest institutional levels: European Commission DG CNECT (Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, which promotes the digital transformation of companies and public administrations); Italian National Authorities (AGID, ISTAT, University, Research Centers); exponents of other Horizon 2020 European projects in progress, as well as scholars and representatives of other European and Italian public administrations.

During the morning, after the greetings and institutional interventions, there will be the talk of the Commission’s E-Government Policy Officer will take place European – DG CNECT.

Then, the results of the ROUTE-TO-PA project are will be presented, including the pilot activities in Italy, held in Campania and in Tuscany (Comune di Prato) There will be presentations of experiences, in terms of Open Data, of the Regional Council and of the Regional Government of Campania, both on ROUTE-TO-PA that on the ITER Project. 

There will be two round tables, one in the second morning (“Scenarios and perspectives on Open Data, Transparency and Participation”) and one in the afternoon (“Experiences on Participation and Transparency in Public Administration”).

 The pitches on 3 important European H2020 projects will also be presented.

 Finally, we will reward:

  • citizens and the Administration who participated and hosted the Open Data Challenge in the Municipality of Nocera Inferiore, who co-created open data on their cultural heritage;
  • a high school in Avellino (Campania) that participated in the Hetor project with the “School-Work Transition” program;
  • two middle schools in Prato (Tuscany) that produced numerous datasets in the platform used in Route-to-PA.
